Today I came across a new video of Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed. At first I was looking at it, and I told myself "Wow!", this Pagani Zonda looks really nice. I seriously thought it was an actual promo from Pagani themselves. Then I realised ofcourse that it is not from Pagani, and that it's just a fan made video. This then made me wonder how much of a leap games have made in a short amount of time. It was only about 15 or more years ago that we were playing some really pixelated games, and now games look so life like. Racing games have made incredible leaps compared to other games. I think this is because in a Racing game a developer only needs to concentrate on cars and gameplay. Rest is just a track, trees, and grass. I don't think those three demand anything in terms of power and development. That's what was on my mind today, is just the major leaps we as gamers, developers, and the world have come in terms of virtual graphics. Have a nice day!
